Commercial Geothermal Heating and Cooling Solutions

At Geomaster we have a diverse range of units in many different sizes and configurations. Our geothermal and water-source systems are precisely designed to meet the demanding standards of builders and designers, and to suit any budget.

We will work with you to create and design a heating and cooling system which will be efficient and cost-effective throughout its lifetime. All of Geomaster’s systems are built to the highest industry standards and we test each unit exhaustively before delivery. All of our systems can be adapted for installation in either new or existing buildings of any size. Geomaster offer a full range of water-source heat pump systems for either geothermal (ground loop or ground source) or boiler/tower (water loop) applications. Geomaster geothermal systems are one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly ways to heat and cool buildings as Geomaster units move energy from where it is not being used to where it is needed.

High-efficiency, self-contained Geomaster units can be placed in virtually any location within a building and connected via a water loop. Heat is added and rejected using ground loops from natural sources such as the ground, a body of water, or a boiler and a cooling tower. Each unit responds only to the heating or cooling load of the individual zone it serves. This provides excellent comfort levels for occupants, better control of energy use for building owners and lower seasonal operating costs.

Systems are commonly applied to:

  • Office buildings
  • Community buildings
  • Banks
  • Schools
  • Libraries
  • Apartments
  • Health care facilities
  • Hotels
  • Churches
  • Schools

Higher Efficiency

A Geomaster geothermal system operates more efficiently than conventional heating and air conditioning systems because it can deliver up to seven units of heat energy for every unit of electrical energy used. A Geomaster geothermal system can reduce your power consumption by up to 80%.

Safe, Clean and Healthy

Fossil fuels such as natural gas, LPG or diesel are not required to operate a Geomaster Geothermal system, so there’s no combustion, flames or fumes, making it a much safer system. You can pipe heat through a concrete floor where there is no air movement and, in the case of air handling systems, we use high-efficiency air filters to keep your indoor air quality higher, removing dust and pollen so you can breathe easier.

Environmentally Responsible

The ground absorbs about 50 percent of the sun’s energy that reaches the Earth. Geomaster geothermal systems harness that free, renewable energy and provide an environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your building. And no carbon dioxide emissions are released into the air either, inside or out, because the system doesn’t burn fossil fuels.

Ease of Installation

Geothermal systems use proven, durable and reliable high density polyethylene pipes which can be buried vertically or horizontally in the ground. The loop field can be placed under a carpark, building or garden/lawn area. The loop field can be located in a body of water if it is available.

Low Maintenance

Geomaster geothermal systems are very reliable and require less maintenance. This is because they use the more stable ground temperature to transfer heat which means they last longer.

Easy To Service

Water source heat pumps are easy to service and do not require specialised training, giving the owner many more options regarding maintenance and service. The refrigerant volumes are small, which reduces safety requirements within the building.

Aesthetically Pleasing

Because geothermal systems do not require large plant rooms or noisy and unsightly outdoor units, building designers and stakeholders have a far greater opportunity to have the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) designed around the building rather than the building designed around the HVAC. The result is a more aesthetically pleasing building and space is made available that can now be used for tenant occupancy, generating additional revenue.

Flexible Plant Design

Both centralised and decentralised plants and a range of terminal units are available. Each water source heat pump resides in close proximity to the zone it serves. This avoids the large duct runs associated with central HVAC systems. As the building is constructed, only a minimum amount of equipment needs to be provided until an occupant is found
and the tenant design complete. Existing HVAC systems can be retrofitted to use Geomaster geothermal systems and
equipment can be changed to meet the specific needs of the occupant. The unit can be sized to meet the load of a new tenant and individual power metering is possible, allowing the occupant to control and pay their own energy costs.

Redundancy

Central system equipment failures can drastically affect large portions of the building. With Geomaster geothermal systems the building is not dependent on one or two large chillers. With multiple units serving individual zones should one unit fail, only this area is affected.

Precise Control

On larger projects Geomaster uses DDC (Direct Digital Controls) for ease of control and reporting whilst reducing running costs. Its core function is to manage the environment within the building and may control temperature, carbon dioxide levels and humidity within a building. As a core function in most BMS systems, it controls heating and cooling, manages the systems that distribute this air throughout the building (for example by operating fans or opening/closing dampers), and then locally controls the mixture of heating and cooling to achieve the desired room temperature.

A secondary function sometimes is to monitor the level of human-generated CO2, mixing in outside air with waste air
to increase the amount of oxygen while also minimising heat/cooling losses. Geomaster can be integrated using industrial application layer protocols such as DeviceNet, SOAP, XML,BACnet, LonWorks and Modbus.
